There’s One Person Iggy Azalea Wouldn’t Mind Losing To At The Grammys

Iggy Azalea has four more things to celebrate in this banner year for the 24-year Australian femcee. Four shiny, golden Grammy nominations, that is.

Azalea is up for the coveted awards of Best New Artist and Record of the Year, in addition to Best Rap Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. This morning she thanked the Recording Academy for the honorable accolades by tweeting a surprised “Woah!”.
The Billboard Women in Music honoree will go up against some big name talent in the Best New Artist and Record of the Year categories, including Sam SmithSia and Taylor Swift, but the rapper isn’t worried win or lose.
“If I lose every award to Sam Smith, I’d be fine with it,” Azalea told Billboard. “I really loved Sam Smith’s record.”
Among Iggy’s other 2014 accolades, the artist surpassed Lil’ Kim as the female rapper with the longest-leading single in Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart history with “Fancy,” and became the first act since The Beatles to secure both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots when her Ariana Grande collaboration “Problem” released alongside “Fancy.”
“I don’t know one girl my age who isn’t a fan of rap music,” she told the publication. “We have very few characters that we can identify with, so it’s cool I get to be one of those girls.”
