The disclosure was reportedly made by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the command, Hilda Ibifuro-Harrison at the inauguration of new executives of the Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
Mrs Ibifuro said that port officials had received intelligence reports on the proposed attack about three months ago, Tribunereports.
“We are not taking the threat lightly at all and we encourage all stakeholders who visit the port to keep their eyes and ears open in case of the activity of the sect,” she stated.
Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for two explosions which occurred in Apapa on June 25 but authorities have continually denied that the sect was involved in the attack.
